Criteria Guiding the Allocation of Pro-D FundS
Costs allowed could include:
- Registration
- Release time (note that if you book a TTOC without prior approval, you may be held responsible for the cost should your application end up not being approved)
- Travel
- Mileage ($0.68 per kilometre)
- Parking
- Meals (Per Diem $20 Breakfast, $25 Lunch, $40 Dinner)
- Accommodation
Upon approval funds may be allocated to support:
- Workshops
- Conferences
- Courses that do not contribute to an increase in salary or certification
- Classroom visits
- Special interest discussion groups
- Collaborative learning groups
- Self-Directed Pro-D
- Professional Association Fees
- Professional materials (not learning resources)
Funds will not be allocated to support:
- Student materials
- Student Learning resources
- Personal benefits (eg anything that Canada Revenue would consider a taxable benefit)
- Job specific training
- Release for in-service related to mandated district initiatives
- Release for individual planning, marking, report writing or classroom cleanup
- Personal wellness endeavours
- Release for involvement in field trips and student activities

Use this form when requesting individual funds for: Individual Funds, Part Time & TTOC Funds, District Compensation Funds, Facilitator Funds, PLGs, and PLPs. Please note form has been updated for the 2023-2024 school year.
Use this form to request a TTOC from/for: Supplemental TTOC Day, School Based PD Committee Planning, Mentorship, Individual Pro-D Funded TTOC, Facilitator Funds, PLGs and PLPs.
This form is for NDTA and record keeping purposes. You are still required to book the TTOC through ADS. Forms must be received by the NDTA and approved prior to taking PD release time to ensure that costs are covered by NDTA PD and not reversed to you.
All applications for the 2023-2024 school year must be received prior to October 31st, 2023. Applications will be considered for funding by the PD committee at the November 2023 meeting. Applicants will be notified after this time whether or not their application was approved for funding.
Requests for funds and TTOC time in association with PLGs and PLCs is done with the Individual PD Funds and Application for TTOC Release forms.
First Funding Period:
- Applications submitted by October 31st, 2023
- Applications will be considered for funding by the PD committee at the November 2023 meeting.
- Applicants will be notified after this time whether or not their application was approved for funding.
Second Funding Period:
- Other half of the budget for PLPs
- Applications submitted by January 26, 2024.
- Applications will be considered for funding by the PD committee at the February 2024 PD meeting.
- Applicants will be notified after this time whether or not their application was approved.
